I think a lot of people assume that training accounts for say 80% of your results…I think this is far from the case.
I like to think of bodybuilding similar to building a house, each part of the process plays an important role in creating the final product. Your plan & goals are the blueprints. Your training is the physical labour & actual construction, your food, diet & nutrition are the bricks, mortar, foundation. Rest is akin to letting the cement dry & foundation set. Supplements are the finishing touches, not structurally necessary but look good. Finally, and what I think is the most important part, is your inner drive, your mindset, your heart, your motivation. Now I don’t know what to compare this to, possibly the architects brilliance or the money that started the construction.
Without any building materials, all the time and effort spent in the gym will be worth nought. Without enough time to rest, your muscles won’t have time to recover. Without a plan or sense of direction, you’ll be heading nowhere.
Training is just one of the important parts in building an impressive physique. Everything you do in life affects your performance and your physique.
