Hard, consistent work.
Keto, Intermittent Fasting, Low Fat, High Carb, High Protein, Paleo, Nutrient Timing, IIFYM, all work. Hell, Jenny Craig works. The only underlying factor that separates the successful from the rest, is consistency.
Any combination of training and nutrition will work. The fried chicken and Netflix diet works – with consistency you’ll achieve high levels of body fat and increased probability of coronary heart disease.
What truly matters is action followed by consistent hard work. If you want to change your body for the better, pick an option, any option, and work at it. Day in, day out, month after month, year after year. The results won’t be immediate, what will be immediate is the pain that you will feel for the hard choices you’re making. Embrace these hard choices and relish in the ability of your mind and body to tolerate this.
One must choose in life between boredom and suffering. – Madame de Stael
It really doesn’t matter which nutrition plan you choose or which training scheme you follow. Any of them will work, you can see the results, there are amazing strength athletes that are high carb, others that are low carb, some are keto and even vegan. What separates them is their ability to pick a plan and stick with it. Dedicate their actions and lives to pursuing excellence. I can guarantee you that if you took 1,000 successful athletes and healthy people you’ll find that they all have the same thing in common.
They had the discipline to eat what was necessary, train when it was necessary and recover when it was necessary.
When is it necessary? Everyday.
Just because you mowed the lawn on the 1st of January doesn’t mean you never have to tend to it ever again. The grass needs consistent water, the grass needs consistent maintenance, it needs nutrients and sunshine.
