My Favorite Exercises

These are the exercises that I think should be incorporated into everyone’s training routine. Whether beginner/advanced, fat loss/muscle building, strong/weak. Just keep in mind, this is assuming that said individual has no injuries or health issues that would prevent performing them, if it hurts stop!

It was as if a great muscle & strength building veil was lifted from my eyes once I realised that I was achieving amazing results from focusing on these lifts.  You’ll notice that they are all compound lifts. Seems to be a commonality in the literature out there that compound lifts are the best lifts for the body. Why is this? The few standout reasons are that compound lifts make your body excrete more growth hormone due to the higher muscle activity, they help increase bone density, they burn lots of calories and they are just plain more brutal on the body!

In no particular order (after the first three) are a list of amazing compound movements that work wonders. Click on the link for why you should be performing these exercises:

Overhead Press

Barbell Rows

Pushups
